Encouraging improvement in tourist arrivals, nearly 2.5 million tourists arrived in six months

Tourist arrivals have seen encouraging improvements as the Corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic has receded and travel restrictions have been lifted. In the first six months of 2022 (January-June), 237,696 tourists have visited Nepal.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 46,957 tourists visited Nepal in June alone. This is 69.3 percent compared to 2019. Corona was not an epidemic that year. In June of that year, 61 thousand 351 tourists came to Nepal.

In July 2020, 76 tourists visited Nepal and in July 2021, 1,143 tourists visited Nepal. Travel was banned this year due to an outbreak of the corona virus. This statistic is for tourists coming by air. Nepal does not count Indian nationals coming by land as tourists.
