Two major accidents of Tara Air on Pokhara-Jomsom route in seven years

Tara Air, which was flying on the Pokhara-Jomsom route, has had two major accidents in seven years. Tara Air's 9 NAET twin-engine plane carrying 22 passengers from Pokhara crashed at Sanusare in Thasang Gaunpalika-2 Kobang of Mustang on Sunday morning.

The crash site was discovered at Sanusare, the foot of the mountain, just a day after the ship crashed due to unfavorable weather and geographical difficulties. Twenty-two people, including the crew, were killed in the accident.

Earlier, Tara Air's 9-NAHH twin-engine aircraft had crashed at Solighopte Bhir in Annapurna Gaunpalika-3 Dana of Myagdi on March 29, 2072.

Twenty-three people, including two foreigners and three crew members, were killed in the crash. Sunday is the second accident in seven years. Similarly, a 9 MEQ twin-engine aircraft of Tara Air, which was flying from Jomsom to Pokhara on August 19, 2073, fell into the river Kaligandaki after the wheels did not open on the runway.

The aircraft flying on the Pokhara-Jomsom route is disconnected from both sides due to obstructions in the mountains and hills.

It takes the plane five to six minutes to cover the distance between the two. The aircraft has to fly between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal on the same route of 'Buffer Zone' which is separated from the towers on both sides.
